Beautiful Vintage Ornaments

What a lovely score this weekend! Boxes and boxes of pretty baubles.

Five sweet pastel Austrian ornaments. Love the dainty wire wraps. But wait! The box says 1/2 made in Austria — I bet it’s the glass part. No one makes such exquisite glass ornaments as the Austrians.

One box of small vintage silver glass ornaments and one box [...]

Beautiful Clutter

Who says clutter is bad? Pfffft. It really depends on what the clutter is, right?

I’m one of those people who LIKE having beautiful stuff all over the place — good thing since I’m in the stuff business.    Here’s a pile of stuff waiting for price tags for the antique mall space.  I’d really [...]

I’ve mentioned before that I’m a crazy magazine lady. Well, I also collect lamps — the fancier and more unique the better. The cherub lamp has been featured before.

This gorgeous vintage hand-painted rose lamp is also one of my favorites.

The original shade is still on it, but horribly stained.

So, I wrapped it with a rose [...]

It all started with the aforementioned antique booth remodel. An oak bookcase came home and needed a spot to live. Here’s my bedside stack.

It rotates as I get bored with leafing through the same old stuff.

A blue basket holds a few issues on the wicker shelf in the living room.

This trunk keeps the mother stash of home [...]

Hummel figurines and drawings have charmed collectors of all ages all over the world.  Goebel, the manufacturer of Hummels, announced that 2008 would be the last year for production.  I blame all the cheap knock-offs that flooded the market.  Perhaps Goebel should’ve been more diligent in shuttering such operations.
I’m not a huge collector, but I’ve always loved [...]

Oh such a wonderful find with these sweet vintage greeting cards.  It’s a pile of about 30 — birthday, quite a few graduation, a few get well cards, from the 1930’s on up until about the 1970’s.

Here’s a birthday card for a little boy. It’s interactive, when you open it the message changes from Happy [...]

FABULOUS FINDS

Once per year the town home community in which we live has a giant garage sale. It’s important to keep track of the date for a number of reasons.

It is the ONLY time I’m allowed to have a garage sale per the by-laws.
Our two car garage isn’t as big as it would seem and fills [...]
