What’s Old is New Again

When I first stumbled onto double ended crochet I thought it was a brand new technique. Feeling all superior and modern in my needlewoman skills, I was absolutely giddy with the technique of it.

Yeah, well. Read the materials needed for this pattern. Go ahead, I’ll wait.

Doh-de, doh-de-doh.

That’s right. You need one No. 9 double hook afghan crochet needle. The pattern is from a Corticelli magazine published in the year 1920. Yes, AND the pattern calls for black and orange pearl cotton. I just didn’t think ladies in 1920 wore orange, did you?

By the way, I just want to repeat that I’m in the market for knit and crochet pattern books and magazines from 1920-1960. Send me pictures and/or titles with publish dates. I’ll check my stash and get back to you.
