Never, Ever Do THIS!
Look what I made? A knitted and felted bag. I knitted and knitted and knitted to make it perfect. In fact, I started over twice on this bag to fix the shaping just the way I liked it. When the last end was woven in, oh, how excited I was to finally felt!
What?! You’re asking what all that white crap is all over the bag? Well, I was a frugal, water-usage-conscious needlewoman and tossed this in the wash machine with a load of towels. Can you guess what color the towels were?
No problem, I thought. I have this handy-dandy de-piller gadget. Five sets of batteries and half-hour later, it looks like this. The bigger flakes are gone, but that white fuzz is down inside the felt, and it ain’t comin’ out. It is part of the bag now.
Note to self: Never felt anything with towels ever again.
