Bathroom Vanity Like None Other

Reluctant Bathroom Redo

2

french vanityOur toilet is leaking, not from tank to bowl – well, it’s leaking there, too, but yesterday it began leaking around the base. Hubby has been putting off repairing the tank to bowl leak, because A) he’s lazy and B) the toilet is hemmed over by a ledge.

Yes, we have one of those 1990′s situations where the counter extends over the back of the toilet. Fixing the toilet means major demolition. The counter has to come out to get to the toilet tank. But that counter won’t budge until the massive mirror that rests on top of the counter comes out first.

And, is there a better time to put in a new floor than when the toilet is out of the way? The old sink has a tiny chip in it. Can’t redo the floor and the light fixture yet leave the crummy sink. And a new sink really deserves a new counter, right? Not to mention a new faucet.

Uuuugggh! I see dollar signs and a construction zone in a tiny townhouse I don’t want to spend either time or money on. I’d rather put those dollars away to use on our next place. Nevertheless, using the photos above as inspiration, I guess I’m reluctantly redoing a bathroom. We’ll see how close I can come to either of those — on a budget. Stayed tuned. I may even post embarrassing before photos of our ugly tiny townhouse bathroom.

:) Inis, post away! I hate when you have to reluctantly fix things, but it will turn out so beautiful. Paint, a new toilet and a few changes make such a HUGE difference. xo Lidy
