No sooner did I give away that cute baby girl dress when a couple of my nieces announced their pregnancies. Go figure, huh? Of course, who knew whether either would be a girl … but still.
Aunt Inis waited dutifully to hear the sex of both babies. One niece is STILL not certain, but one did have a girl.
For that new addition to the family, I made a pink and purple sweater and hat. The sweater is crocheted and the hat knit. Can’t wait to see sweet little Rogue wearing these. The hat is small enough for her this year, but the sweater came out a bit bigger than I had anticipated. Perhaps next year for the sweater.
For the 2nd addition still to come, I waited as long as I could to get word on the sex. Then, decided to make something unisex — this darling green hoodie with cream stripes using this darling baby hoodie knitting pattern from Knit Culture. This piece is knit and I also knit the same hat as below in the green and cream. I’m not real positive I got the armhole-shoulder-neck area shaped correctly on the sweater. Unfortunately, I didn’t have an infant handy to do a fitting.
I have been making a ton of these cute hats. Everyone it seems from former coworkers to family is having babies. My boss welcomed twin granddaughters recently. I gifted a pair of hats in purple and green, resembling little eggplants. Cute as buttons! No. I didn’t take a picture … because I forgot. Sigh. One would think that after years of blogging I’d remember to take frakin’ pictures.
So, anyway, baby stuff is done and <GASP in horror> all my project bags are empty! For shame, a yarnie with nothing on the needles or the hooks.
