Tiny Townhouse Patio
Giving up my garden was perhaps the hardest change when we downsized into our tiny townhouse. Well, okay. Giving up half the living space was mighty painful, too. We’re still purging stuff more than 2 years later.
But I have my tiny patio here at the tiny townhouse to enjoy the great outdoors. Now that it’s getting cooler in the evenings* I want a little warmth out there.
I have a new day job … with a steady salary … which means I can afford to shop! Woohoo!!! And (window) shop I did. Would you look at what I found?
Oh, my. It is to DIE for, isn’t it? It’s a fire dome from HG Lifestyle. This one is my favorite of the three styles they have. Don’t worry, dear tiny townhouse neighbors, I’d never build such a huge fire. I think the photo stylist just wanted to show off the cut outs. The gorgeous design, the site says, goes back to the Han Dynasty in ancient China. It is going on the top of my wish list.
I’ve always been a huge fan of garden stakes, especially here on the patio. I put them in patio pots and plant annuals around them – easy peasy to change out for the seasons. I love the spider one for Halloween … OH and look, they’re on sale right now
One thing we do need is something pretty to contain our hose.
I love copper. LOVE, love, LOVE copper. And this copper hose pot is perfect for our patio. Going next on my wish the list.
Then I came to the cupolas and the beautiful cottage weathervanes. They are soooo pretty. Both would be the icing on the cake of any charming cottage. Although, I might choose one of their lovely finials rather than a weathervane.
Add this adorable copper buttercup rain chain. Did I mention I love copper? I LOVE copper!
Ah, yes. Surfing garden sites make me long for a single family home, again … for like 10 minutes
My husband and I have really come to enjoy the freedom of tiny townhouse living. Someone else mows the grass, paints the exterior, patches the roof and shovels the snow.
*Speaking of snow … did you hear that Colorado got snow last week? Yup. On September 21 we got our first storm of the season. Now – barring a few years at college and few more in Omaha, Nebraska, I’ve live in Colorado since 1976. I expect crazy weather — 60 degree days in February and snow on Halloween that is almost traditional. But September?

That fire thingie is amazing! I want one! Great post! Very inspiring to bring a small piece of fun to the outdoor decor.
