What Happened to the LAST Design Star?

Did you wonder what happened to the last Design Star winner? ME, TOO!
I loved her wonderful, signature, soft graphic paintings that she did in several of the challenges. And her laugh! It was totally contagious.
Anyway, I was watching the current cycle of Design Star (I have to catch up on DVR’d episodes so NO SPOILERS in the comments PLEASE!) and I wondered if she had a falling out with HGTV or decided the TV grind just wasn’t for her or worse that something terrible had happened to her. So, I decided to do a little research to see what I could find out.
I’m am happy to say that nothing untoward happened. She had a baby! Aw. That’s a good excuse as any to postpone production of your very own show. Congratulations, Jennifer.
Take a peek at her new show, Paint-Over. It looks like it is going to be right up my redo-for-cheap alley … kind of like the old HGTV I used to watch almost exclusively before it became the realtor channel.
Can’t wait to watch.

I have been wondering, too! I really have been looking forward to Jen’s show. I loved her personality and she has a “calmness” about her. I loved everything she did on “Design Star” and of course, being a fellow Iowan, I am so proud of her. I wish she was at my house helping me make some paint color decisions. Maybe one of her shows could help explain the “color wheel” of paint colors and show a LOT of rooms painted in complimentary colors. GOOD LUCK on the new show, Jen. You deserve it !!! Congratulations on the Baby !!!
