It all started with the aforementioned antique booth remodel. An oak bookcase came home and needed a spot to live. The loft was designated … which meant the yarn storage units needed to move to the closet in the home office … which meant the closet needed cleaning out … which meant some of the pantry items needed to move to the kitchen … which meant …………….. well, you get the idea.
Suddenly — or not — a good 80% of our possessions were stacked in the livingroom, dining room and on the bed. It wasn’t long at all until the frustration of finding a place for everything (and everything in its place) set in.
Smiling down at the chaos were my lovely cherubs.

I picked up this golden shelf cherub years and years ago while in college, definitely a splurge back then but I just loved it — and still do! Made in Italy of heavy, heavy plaster, the paint finish has actually developed a gorgeous green patina. Does that mean there’s copper in the paint? Possibly. I’m so glad I bought it as I haven’t seen another like it since.

Another super heavy piece is the adored cherub lamp — a gift from my mother about 14 years ago. It always, always gets a spot of prominence in my decorating and tweaking and never fails to charm me.
A cross stitched cherub that was meant to be part of a grouping. Some day, hopefully, his brothers will join him when I get to those projects in my queue. {Throat clear} Admittedly, it’s a very long queue.
What else should hold porcelain roses other than a porcelain cherub wall pocket? This pair look down over the mountain of yarn on the bed. Their serene expressions lead me to believe that they completely understand my craziness!
More sweet cherubs live in our home. These are just a few of my favorites.
