Antique Mall

It has been just nutso around here lately. Too much going on. I have some space at the antique mall here in Colorado Springs (the largest in the state, by the way — just in case you’re in town). I’ve been neglecting it because I’ve been so busy working on online stuff. Tsk. Tsk. Shame on me.

Thank goodness I stopped by yesterday. It was just in shambles. Two rather large pieces of furniture were sold. Yes, that is a good thing — but usually all the beautiful items that were on the furniture winds up in piles on the floor. Not a good thing for vintage treasures, right? A drop-in turned into an hour of rearranging.

It turns out that interior designers working on our local Parade of Homes have been hitting the mall for unique items. Isn’t that great?! Shop Indie! LOL. I did really, really well in June and on track to do really, really well in July. I must get more stuff down there Sunday morning!

bunny deer cloche

One of my favorite quirky pieces sold, though. A plastic furry bunny with reindeer horns. Bummer ;) He was my booth watcher — he’s been there since last July. Customers would point and laugh, but nobody bought him … until last week. I’m gonna miss that guy!

Knit and Crochet Classes

This Saturday, I begin teaching knitting and crochet classes at the Air Force Academy. One class should be parent and child. I’m really looking forward to passing on my skills. My main aim is to be encouraging — I know learning something new can cause stress. My classes run for 3 weeks. Of course, I’ll take a camera and blog about it ;)

Tomorrow morning I have to finish typing up the simple patterns and the samples to take to class. But, tonight — I think a glass (or two) of Sauvignon Blanc is in order.

And, finally, I played around with this blog today.  What do you think?  I’m testing different colors and art in preparation for my ad in Romantic Homes.  I want to get a “look”, a “brand” and stick with it. So, your feedback is very, very welcomed!

I have to say — I’ve been working in the draft.blogger and it’s about to drive me insane, because it doesn’t space paragraphs and pictures very well. Grrrrr. So, if you subscribe to the feed version and you get 10 different versions … that’s why. I apologize :)

Too bad your jackalope sold; what a fun greeting to your booth!
I’d like to tag you in the 7 Songs of Summer. You can read about it here: http://bigeeesblog.blogspot.com/2008/07/7-song-tag.html
I won’t have my post up about it for a few days. I still have to get my Christmas in July done, too. I’ll let you know as soon as it’s ready. I do have the link/icon up on my site for it, though!

If I make it to Colorado again, I’ll sure try to stop in and take a look. Love how you store your things in pitchers and glass jars. Take Care
