An Award … And More Goodies for the Christmas in July Giveaway

6

Sheesh. I tried to come up with a shorter title for this post, but some days it’s just not meant to be, you know?  Perhaps something will come to me and I’ll come back and edit.
Brillante Blog Award

First, I want to thank Elizabeth for presenting me with this very nice award. It was because I got Genius on that silly widget, isn’t it Elizabeth? ;) Thank you, again. It is nice to be noticed in this big blogosphere.  Please visit Elizabeth’s blog. She much more prolific a writer than I ;)

Now, the rules say that I’m to pass the award along to 7 more brillante bloggers.
Margo at Robolady is past brilliant. Really, what that lady can do with a pile of seeming junk is amazing. Absolutely amazing. And, to top it off, she is extremely nice.
Through the lovely Margo, I found out that Ki Nassauer has started a personal blog. I’ve always admired her skill with junk. So, let’s support her and welcome her to the blogging world, shall we?
Pedal Power and her Garden Junk blog is yet another creative junker blog. Hmmmm. Is anyone else seeing a pattern here? Maybe it’s because I wish I were as good as all these lovely ladies at turning trash into treasure. I’m reading their blogs — so hopefully some talent will rub off over the world wide web ;)
Karla at Karla’s Cottage creates wonderful pretties from vintage cast offs, too. Her’s are girly girl pretty papers and ribbons and flowers. Poke around her blog a bit to see all the murals and paintings she’s done. Oh my gosh! Beyond gorgeous.
Definitely have to give kudos to Kim at The Twice Remembered Cottage. She creates non-fat pastries. It’s TRUE!  Don’t you believe me?  LOL.  The goodies are non-fat because they’re faux.  She’s also in the midst of restoring a lovely, lovely cottage. Plus, she was very gracious to include a newbie blogger in the Cottage Charm Giveaway.
Pampering Beki  Beki and her family were in my neck of the woods for vacation and I failed to call her. We were going to get together for a coffee. I am such a forgetful Fanny. She forgave me, though.  I met Beki through Etsy – she creates beautiful flowers that just caught me eye. Love them! Check out her Etsy shop for a peek.
Cindy at My Romantic Home gets a tip of my hat for her skill with a paintbrush. Again, I read her blog hoping, JUST HOPING, that her talent will rub off on me over the internet.  I’m painting a table now (hey, it takes me two weeks!) Wait til you see the globby messy paint job. Hmmm. Maybe I won’t show you close ups :)   Cindy is another wonderful blogger who embraced a newbie blogger, me.  Thank you, Cindy! (Edit to fix all the Kim’s to Cindy. I’m such a dummy. )
So, there are my seven picks for Brillante Blogs.  Hope you visit each and every one.

Ladies, the rules state that you’re to share and link to the person who gave you the award (me) AND pass it along to 7 more deserving bloggers.

Songs of Summer Tag
Elizabeth also tagged me with the 7 Songs of Summer  I’m still working on that one, lady.  Forgive my tardiness ;)
Addition to the
Now, for the really, really good stuff.  Look what I found? A pair of very vintage Christmas candles — One candle is a bit discolored. The candles are still in the original box  — just like the Shiny Brites. The best part is THEY COULD BE YOURS.  I’m adding them to the goodies in the Christmas in July Giveaway.
Several people have asked how to do a giveaway.  It’s very basic and very simple. Copy the code under the graphic from the sidebar here. Paste it on YOUR sidebar.  Gather a few pretty things to giveaway. Post your giveaway on YOUR blog. Then email me at alovelything (at) gmail (dot) com {use the symbols for @ and dot — posting it this way keeps the spam bots from finding my email address} and I will add you to the list of participants.  It’s really fun and you meet the best people with a giveaway.

Thank you for the award, It’s the second time this week for this award, does that mean I have to find 14 people to pass it on to.
I’ll get to this later this week, and thank you for thinking of me.

You are very welcome — and deserving.

If anyone could come up with 14, it’s you, Margo! Seriously, I don’t think you HAVE to do 14.

  3. Cindy ~ My Romantic Home07-16-2008

Thank you for the award! I’m actually a Cindy not a Kim but there are so many blogging Kims I can understand the confusion!!!
