Front Of Our Tiny Townhouse

A COTTAGE INDUSTRY GARDEN TOUR

5

front of our tiny townhouse

I am participating in A Cottage Industry’s wonderful Garden Tour. So, welcome to A Lovely Thing’s tiny little concrete patio.
Here you see the front of my tiny townhome — and all the empty pots on the steps that still need to be filled ;) And the passe Welcome Bear — I still love that guy even if he is a bit cheesy. That’s a cherry tree that just a few weeks ago was simply covered in white blossoms and smelled oh-so heavenly at night.
Pots to be filled
The big, heavy ceramic pot at the bottom of the steps was planted up on Monday. On Tuesday we had a hail storm. Ah, wonderful Colorado! More plants will find their way into that pot sooner or later.
I’d give anything to rip out those junipers — but I think I better check with the home owners’ association before doing so. Even though they add color in the winter, I just can’t stand the scent.
cat and squirrel

window flower pots

The cat chasing the squirrel art is rusty tin — and I just love that pair. We had those two a top a privacy fence at our old house and they fooled a dog into barking once. LOL.
The two terra cotta window boxes under the front window I filled with Impatiens. I hope to find something “viney” to add to them to cover the ugly plug that doesn’t even work! The front of the house faces north and so those boxes will be in quite a bit of shade.
The curtains were hand crocheted by me. {brag, brag} I just won’t tell how long they took me to finish.
You can see the atrocious AC unit.

A side view. I need to cover the battered old cushions on the wicker and find a way to hide that atrocious AC unit. Since the plug doesn’t work, the fountain may have to come down off the wall, too.

So, there’s quite a bit still to do. Hopefully the budget will allow filling the pots very soon :)
PS: I just learned that when you upload really huge photos (like these!), you can click on them and make them ginormous! Please let me know if this makes the blog load slower.

Pretty flowers. I will keep checking back to watch your “garden “grow.” Oh, I also like the window boxes. Very pretty!

Okay – so much to say. The pictures are great! It was not slow at all. I still can’t figure out how to upload multiple photo’s (I’m new at this). When I do more than two photo’s, it gets all jumbled. Must continue practicing. Your townhouse is so pretty! I live in one also, but does not look like yours at all. I love your steps, your window boxes, just everything. It’s fun to do stuff here and there and before you know it – voila!! Great job! Thank you for sharing with us!!
