BAD KITTY!

Every morning without fail my kitty is in the bedroom window scoping out the birdies chirping up their usual morning ruckus. Not that she’d know what to do with one should she ever be so fortunate as to catch one. I love KC – short for Kitty Cat – to bits, but a huntress she isn’t. Lucky for her she found a good home 13 years ago, or she certainly would have starved long ago.

Yes, she’ll be 13 this August and I worry about her. She’s my old lady kitty now. She’s a bit slow getting up the stairs and needs a lift getting on the bed these days.

About 10 minutes ago I realized that I hadn’t seen her this morning. Oh, goodness, my heart stood still in absolute panic. I tore out of the home office to look for her.

She wasn’t in the closet (she gets stuck in there sometimes). Not going potty. Not behind the sofa. Ah, under the bed. I crouch down on my bad knees and there she is … stock still, not twitching a tail. More panic sets in and I’m close to tears now. I touch her tail and to my relief she opened her eyes, meowed her annoyed meow, rolled over and went back to sleep!

Bad, BAD kitty for scaring me half to death!

Actually, she’s been a charming, sweet, good pet for all these years. Never once has she done her business on the floor, never jumped on the kitchen counter or got in the trash. She isn’t an in-your-face type kitty in the morning either.

When I found her in the pet store in 1995, she was the last kitten left – scared and shaking – a tiny little thing that was obviously the runt of the litter. She wouldn’t go to anyone, the shopkeeper said. But she came to me and nestled into my coat and that was that. Best $20 I’ve ever spent :)

So sorry you had the scare of your life.

I had my cat for almost 20 years and she was a full grown cat when I found her. Or should I say she found me.

She showed up in my back yard one day and never left.

She was the best cat. My best friend for all those years. I miss her so much still.

So you could still have your little one for many many more years!

My Simba is 16 years old +/- and I’ve told her she is not allowed to die. Period. End of discussion!

I’m glad KC turned out to be just fine! She’s just so cute, I wish I could reach through the screen and pet her! :-)

I wish I could have a kitten, but the apartment where I live doesn’t allow pets. I had to leave my little doggie with my parents when I moved out. She’s 19 years old this year, and I got her when she was only 6 weeks old. I worry about her, too so I know how you must have felt when you found KC not moving under the bed.

I hope she lives many more healthy happy years!!

She’s so cute. Too bad she runs and hides from visitors!

Wanted to speak to your music poll. Last Date without a doubt the sexiest song EVAH! I like that it doesn’t automatically start.

What a sweet story KC has! I’m so glad she’s okay.
