Peel Paper Part Of Wallpaper

HOW TO REMOVE WALLPAPER – FAST & EASY!

1

I believe anyone who papers a wall should be required to sign a legally binding contract promising to return to the home at such time when the paper removing process occurs.

I’m NOT kidding!

Removing wallpaper can be quite the daunting task. I’ve scraped, used those rollie spike wheel contraptions, steamed and scraped some more. Here is the very best way I have found to remove wallpaper that is ALMOST painless.

peeling off vinyl layer

First, if your paper has a vinyl layer, peel as much of it as you can. This section usually comes off fairly easily. It is the paper under that which seems plastered to the wall with gorilla glue. The following solution will help soften that glue.

THE SOLUTION

1 part plain liquid fabric softer (the cheap stuff is best)
3 parts water
Mix in a spray bottle

This solution has a strong soapy smell, especially when sprayed in the air. I must use a paper mask, because the smell can be overpowering.

spray paper with mixture
Spray the solution quite heavily and allow it to penetrate for a few seconds. Scrape corner with scraper and peel large sections when possible.

Wash with soapy water, then clear water. Let walls dry before painting. And for Pete’s sake, DO NOT HANG WALLPAPER EVER AGAIN!
