During a neighborhood yard sale at our town home community, I traded a small portable kitchen island for this less than “Lovely” corner cabinet.
An ugly duckling for sure, but it was the perfect size the the itty-bitty corner in our itty-bitty dining room. I knew it would be perfect for my Blue Willow.
With a coat of paint, it quickly became a useful piece of furniture.
The cabinet is what I suspect to be a vintage high school wood shop project. The lines are good, but one doesn’t want to highlight the craftsmanship too much. The little triangular drawers have no glides or stops — so, one must be careful pulling those out. But they hold my napkins and rings very nicely.
I used leftover wall paint, as I wanted the piece to kind of recede back. The dining room is very, very small. And, really, the Blue Willow collection is the STAR!

This is a beautiful makeover….don’t you just love the power of paint?!
Yes I do!
Next up is a side table — I think it’ll be going shabby black.
