So, I’m done with the Cascading Leaves pattern. Here’s the pillow I finished.

Then, I crocheted the whole thing closed around an ugly old green pillow. The first round around the edge is single crochet. A trick to make sure each side looks like the “right” side is to single crochet into the front loop of the previous round all the way around, then turn your work and single crochet in the back loop in the other direction.

I’m happy I didn’t waste my work and was able to salvage something from the project. Now, I know I shouldn’t fall back on crochet since it’s so easy for me. I’ve found another pattern that I like — and so far, I think it looks good.

It’s a reversible cable pattern that is meant for a scarf. I’m using two strands and a fat size 15 needle. I’ll make half dozen or so panels and seam those together to make a cozy throw.

Thanks for your comment on my blog! That pillow looks gorgeous. The crocheted flower and button are just the perfect touch. Today is certainly a spring day, eh? As long as it doesn’t get blown away.
Oh, thanks for the compliment on the pillow.
Today was the oddest day weatherwise. It was cloudy as though it wanted to rain, then the sun came out. Next was snow and — I’m not kidding — 2 minutes later sunny blue skies. Crazy, crazy Colorado weather.
thanks for stopping by my blog!
I love the cascading leaves! I love leaf lace knitting of all kinds! Everything is lovely!
